The Other Wine Co. Pinot Gris 2024

The tenth release of The Other Wine Co. Pinot Gris, from an exceptional, cold vintage. It tipifies the wines style evolution – textural ferments, maturation in old French oak, and a beautiful balance of texture and flavour. Super aromatic from a highly concentrated season, with white pear, jasmine and almond sorbet. 

Fermented on full solids in a combination of large format oak foudres, seasoned French oak puncheons, and stainless steel. It was then allowed to rest on lees for 4 months. Star jasmine, mock orange blooms and pomelo pith. Mangosteen, orchard apples and nashi pear. Fresh linen, green gage plum and white pepper. This wine has stayed true to its style from day dot with slight tinkering to sweetness levels and hue. It's unapologetically Gris and filled with spice and all things nice. A lovely wash of natural moderate acidity and slight oily palate. A deserving pairing for Chinese strange flavour chicken or a fat turkey and brie sandwich.

Grenache is Australia’s signature grape variety and Thistledown Wines are slightly obsessed with it. The white version of grenache is still rare in Australia but capable of beautifully textured, citrus laced wines of great drinkability.  An explosion of flavour meets suave, seductive personality! Bright, tangy citrus laced fruit with hints of honeysuckle and lemon balm. Taut, yet textured and complex, this is a beautifully crafted white that breaks the mould.

The Other Wine Co. Sangiovese 2024

A brand new edition to the portfolio for vintage 2024, from the cool climate vineyards of Mount Lofty Ranges. This wine screams Other Wine Co. - a vivacious, bright, early drinking red, with wild strawberry, juicy blue fruits and bright florals. There's perfume, bay leaf and spice, with firm tannins and fresh acidity.

It's fermented as a combination of whole bunches and whole berries, spending two weeks on skins before being basket pressed to old oak and stainless steel. It was bottled young, which coupled with the cooler conditions of vintage 2024, mean it's retained brightness and lifted aromatics.  We couldn't have asked for more of an inaugural release.
