Longview Macclesfield Syrah 2022

The fruit for Longview’s Macclesfield Syrah, is sourced from 3 high-altitude blocks (SH 15, SH13E, SH2S) on a single vineyard. These low-yielding vines are now 25 years old and produce wines of breathtaking elegance and complexity. Fruit is selected solely on flavour and selection comes down to a matter of rows and even panels for the syrah. Careful bunch and berry sorting during hand-picking ensures pristine fruit and once roughly 3 tonnes has been harvested, the fruit goes into open fermenters with 25% whole bunch, to cold soak for up to 10 days. After 8 months in barrel, the wine goes to bottle unfiltered.

Frankland Estate Isolation Ridge Syrah 2021

A calm composed nose suggests great depth. Violets, cinnamon, peppercorns, smoke, stones, and dusty earth mingle with redcurrants, cherries and plums. The palate has todie-for weightlessness and is perfectly poised between a range of ripe, velvety fruits and savoury tones. The whole bunches and our ironstone soils conjure a slew of sweet and exotic spices threaded through the fine, ferrous tannins. Thoroughly compelling and cohesive from first sniff to the soaring finish.

Orchid Dragon Syrah 2021 is a cool climate, single vineyard and top expression of Syrah. It starts in our vineyard where our fastidious viticulturist Chris Zur ensures that soil, vine and grape are working in tandem. Our senior winemaker Craig Grafton then fashions our hand-picked grapes his into a truly moorish bundle of fine tannins, juicy dark fruits heavily laced with plums, berries and violets.
