Riesling vines were first planted as part of Henry Bests Nursery Block vineyard in the 1860s. From subsequent plantings in 1944 and 1978, riesling has become a significant part of their regime. The riesling vines from Great Western produce flavoursome, elegantly structured, spectacularly age-worthy rieslings which stand confidently alongside some of the most outstanding Australian examples of the variety. This 2019 vintage features lifted and intense aromatics of musk, honeysuckle, kaffir lime leaf and crushed rock. The palate is fine and fragrant with steely acidity. Fruit weight smooths the edges and a powdery lime rind and river stone minerality holds everything in place for a long finish.
-
The Blue Pyrenees Estate Richardson Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 features aromas of blackberry fruit, and violets, with cedary french oak. The palate showcases flavours of blackcurrant, iodine, green olive and choc mint. The integration of all these flavours in French oak also adds to the structure and tannin, creating a long savoury aftertaste.
-
The Warramunda Estate Liv Zak Pinot Noir 2019 offers aromas of sweet strawberries, raspberries and rich Christmas cherries. The palate is soft, fresh and vibrant with a racy line of acidity that carries juicy, bright red currants and summer berries and a fine, supple tannin structure.
94-points from Patrick Eckel- "....The palate shows some considered winemaking technique, it has embraced the fruit being picked early, with a crunch to red cherry fruit. There is a subtle build of texture and fruit that never moves beyond medium bodied; subtle spice and gentle undergrowth knit beautifully with more elegant fruit as it moves across the palate. The finish is long, and finely structured. This wine has a wonderful future ahead of it."
