Established in 1985, Cloudy Bay was one of the first five wine makers to venture into Marlborough. Pelorus embodies the crispy sophistication of a sparkling wine: subtly combining fresh and fruity chardonnay notes with savoury hints of pinot noir.

To accompany this wine, one might consider Koura. Koura prepared simply a master of camouflage, the Koura or freshwater crayfish blends in with the rocky bottoms of the streams, lakes, ponds and swamps of New Zealand. On South Island, it calls the rivers of the Wairau valley home. A traditional Maori food, Ben Shewry makes it his own and chooses to serve it simply, just grille a vif (grilled fresh).
