The Derelict Vineyard 2018 offers aromas of blueberry, plum, liquorice, spice and earth on the nose. The palate is juicy and generous, but with a seam of crunchy tannin and lively acid that adds structure and fresh punch to the wine. All of these big rich fruits wrapped around a graphite almost ferrous like frameworks. This wine can be enjoyed now but undoubtedly a grenache built for time.
”It's a strident, structural grenache with a dry, tannic finish. It feels hard to love at first, but as it breathes the fruit slowly mounts a charm offensive. It's pretty handy. In fact it's pretty good. Firm, sandy tannin, bay leaf and floral infusions, and enough red berries/licorice.”
