Penley Estate are making merlot cool again! A modern icon of South Australian winemaking, Penley Estate was born of a marriage between the Tolley and Penfolds winemaking dynasties. Their merlot is juicy, slurpy, and bursting with medium-bodied blood-plum fruit, rated 95 points by the Halliday Wine Companion. Bleasdale have been making wine in Langhorne Creek since 1850, this year they celebrate their 175-year anniversary. Malbec is a particular speciality of Bleasdale, and their Generations series celebrates their long history in the region. Redolent of black fruit, earth and spicy cedar, it’s rated 96 points by the Halliday Wine Companion.
