This wine is a sentimental favourite of the Nugan family. The Durif grapes that make this stunningly rich and full-bodied wine were planted in honour of second-generation family member Ken Nugan by his widow Michelle Carruthers Nugan due to his love of Durif. A variety that dates back to the 1800's the southern Rhone region of France, Durif is a rich, robust, full-bodied red grape variety that revels in the warm, dry conditions of Manuka Grove in Hanwood, New South Wales. This wine is the perfect accompaniment to rich, slow-braised or charcoal seared meat dishes.
