San Marzano is probably the most awarded winery in Puliga and Sessantanni the “flagship” wine. Sessantanni is regularly rated as “Best absolute Wine in Italy” by Luca Maroni. It is a DOP wine Primitivo di Manduria made exclusively from 5000 very old bush vines. The grapes are hand-harvested in an advanced state of ripening, undergoing 18-25 days of maceration and then 12 months in French and American oak. It is a full-bodied wine, soft and rich in fine tannins, with notes of cocoa, coffee and vanilla in the end.
