The 2.5 hectare Windmill Vineyard occupies a beautiful north facing slope off the ridge that is defined by Thompson’s Lane. With its back to the cold waters of Bass Strait, it is nicely protected from the prevailing south-westerly breezes and in many ways is the classic paradox of a warm site in a cool location.

”No whole bunches (reserved for the W-WB Pinot Noir), destemmed, left on skins for a couple of weeks and aged in French oak puncheons, 25% new, for 9 months. The palest ruby colour of all the pinots, but it has plenty of depth and structure. Archetypal Mornington Peninsula flavours – the dark cherries, the blood orange and earthy notes, with a touch of turmeric and sandalwood. Supple tannins and tangy, bright acidity work across the fuller-bodied palate. It finishes convincingly and confidently.”
