Mount Eyre Semillon Three Ponds Hunter Valley 2018

Trophy winner. Sourced from the Three Ponds Vineyard in Broke.
Made in the classic Hunter unoaked style in stainless steel tanks. A Hunter Semillon built for the long haul and shall age for over 30 years. Dominated by lemon and lime fruits with a hint of cut grass. Over time, characters of honey and toast will develop.

Our first merlot since 2018, as drought and bushfires precluded making this wine in 2019 and 2020. Open fermentation then maturation in French oak.

Mount Eyre Vineyards chardonnay for all of our ranges is grown at our Three Ponds Vineyard at Broke. There are three blocks, planted in 1974, 1992 and 1996. The sandy loam soils have excellent drainage whilst still permitting excellent ripening and flavour development.
