The Tolmer is a modern expression of Coonawarra cabernet showcasing intense blackcurrants and savoury notes of French oak. It's medium-bodied without being heavy and has a generous core of juicy fruits with well-integrated chalky tannins.

Penley Estate Eos 2020

Brooding dark fruits fill the nose; think mulberry, and plum, complemented by licorice and subtle Middle Eastern spice. The palate is dense and powerful without being heavy and the medium-bodied framework is driven by silky creamy tannins and integrated French oak. A wine with excellent concentration and persistence, notes of toasty French oak add complexity to flavours of dark chocolate and stewed cherries. It's incredibly youthful and can be enjoyed now, but will handsomely reward those with the patience to put it away for a few years.

Penley Hyland Coonawarra Shiraz 2021

This is everything you'd want in a full-bodied shiraz. Rich, dark and dense, the Hyland features notes of brooding dark fruits that give way to star anise, leather and chocolate, ably supported by French oak. It's structured, intensely flavoured and ready to be drunk now, preferably with a hearty meal of osso bucco.

Penley Steyning Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Dark, fragrant aromas of blood plum, blackcurrant and anise will draw you in to this contemporary expression of Coonawarra cabernet. It's a complex and thought-provoking wine, medium-bodied with layers of cassis, dark chocolate and toasty French oak. The savoury tannins provide a good line and length and there's a great persistence and depth of flavour, with the vibrancy of the fruit giving the wine real energy and lift. Enjoy it now, or cellar for a few years to be rewarded as the flavours evolve further.

Penley Estate Chertsey Cabernet Blend 2020

This is a medium-bodied Bordeaux blend bursting with aromas of raspberry, anise, violet and black cherry. Fragrant and feminine with a core of bright, juicy fruits, it's framed by fine-grained powdery tannins with flavours of raspberry liquorice, roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate. Those patient enough to cellar will reap the rewards, but the wine's red fruits and elegance are on full display and ready to be enjoyed now.

Penley Blewitt Springs Shiraz 2021

This is the second time that Penley has made a shiraz from McLaren Vale. This time we sought out a sandy sight in the more elevated, cooler sub-district of Blewitt Springs, enabling the pursuit of medium bodied, spicy Shiraz. You won’t be weighted down with an anchor of tannin, but rather elevated by spice and perfume and a crush of purple fruit.

Fresh, bright and youthful, made by winemaker Kate Goodman to celebrate in her own nod to the past. Fermented separately in small 2T open fermenters. Dense and powerful, without heaviness, a layered and succulent core is supported by silky creamy tannins and integrated French oak, a wine of excellent concentration and persistence, the generosity and volume provided by the shiraz, whilst the cabernet contributes to the line and length
