Langmeil Resurrection Mataro 2021

Hiding under the Mourvédre alias, Mataro has too often been relegated to the rank of a ‘blends only’ varietal. The time for a Resurrection is now. Driven by the new generation of Barossa winemakers, Mataro is once again taking its place as a single varietal of regional significance. Having utilized Mataro for over a decade as a great blending varietal, we have come to appreciate it in its own right. A great food wine with blue fruits, spicy characters and subtle earthiness. This complex wine takes its rightful place as a single varietal of note.

Brokenwood Rayner Vineyard Shiraz 2020

Another great release for this iconic single vineyard wine. An excellent densely coloured shiraz typical of the McLaren Vale region. Dark fruit pastille aromas, plum and vanillin oak in the background. Sweet fruit entry on the palate, dark chocolate and a medium to full-bodied mouth feel. A stylish shiraz and one to age over the long term.

After experimenting with some exclusive batches of our Navy Strength, Four Pillars decided to add fresh Byron Bay finger limes, along with our beautiful organic oranges. So, they release just one edition of this gin each year, when they’re in season. The finger limes highlight the Asian spices like coriander and star anise, and are complemented by the addition of fresh ginger. Finally, fresh turmeric adds a fresh but earthy quality. The resulting gin has lifted aromatics of lime curd, pine needles, and fragrant spices with a vanilla character which pulls the spices together. The palate is intense -sweet and juicy -but it is still very clean. The turmeric has added weight and earthiness to the palate.
