Petaluma Croser Vintage Sparkling 2010

Grape Variety: Sparkling

The Petaluma Croser Vintage Sparkling 2010 features aromas of pear, baked bread, cashew nut and dried figs. On the palate, a fine and persistent bead imparts rich textures of ripe raspberry form the pinot noir and, crisp apple flavours from the chardonnay. Time on lees and partial maturation in French oak barriques, has contributed pear, biscuit and brioche flavours. The finish is complex and persistent.

Croser vintage was created as it was believed that the right region in Australia could produce sparkling wine to rival Champagne. That region is Piccadilly in the Adelaide Hills, where Petaluma's handpicked pinot noir and chardonnay vines are located. The 2010 Croser vintage year blend comprises 67% pinot noir and 33% chardonnay. The fruit was whole bunch pressed and hand crafted in the traditional (Methode Champenoise) method.
