The Sharktooth Shiraz from Serafino is a supreme example of modern Australian red. Crafted by their master winemaker Charles Whish, it has razor sharp flavours of dark mulberry and blackcurrant that are sliced by a freshness and vibrancy not often seen in full-bodied wines from McLaren Vale.
Their 2011 Sharktooth offering is 100% oak fermented and matured using pure natural winemaking processes. Deep crimson in the glass, its tannins are firm and ripe with quite spiky acidity and a delightful length.
The 2011 Sharktooth is a rich, plump wine, that really is McLaren Vale Shiraz at its best. With only ten barrels produced, this limited-edition red is an investment piece that you will want to have in your cellar.
The Serafino story began in 1964 when Steve (Serafino) Maglieri arrived in Australia from Italy as a passionate teenager full of dreams. Two years later, with the assistance of his father Giovanni, he planted his first vines that now extend to 350 acres in McLaren Vale.
The average price per bottle is only available in a case of 6.
