2017 Sewn Shiraz, of Seville Estate, named 'Winery Of The Year' from James Halliday Wine Companion 2019, This wine is reserved only for people who enjoy strong earthy and savoury characteristics in their shiraz, classic example cool climate shiraz - soft and juicy while retaining delicate fruit flavour and a spectrum spices. The wine has complex aromas showing darker fruits, plum and rhubarb. There is a lovely spice thread of cinnamon and nutmeg that softens and adds perfume to the wine. The palate is more earthy and savoury showing great structure from the natural skin tannin and acidity. The whole bunch character sets in the background adding savory depth while balancing the riper berry fruits. This soft red berry shiraz enjoys some time in a decanter before serving.
