The Longview Whippet Sauvignon Blanc 2022 is an Adelaide Hills classic; ‘Whippet’ Sauvignon Blanc displays aromas of passionfruit, guava, mangosteen, leafy fresh cut grass and herbs, honeysuckle, and lemon. Whip smart and racy – like the hound after which it is named - and displays refreshing, green bean and nettle characters and finishes with incredible mouth-watering acidity. Whilst the yield was down across the board, 2022 will be remembered as one of the best vintages Longview has ever seen.

Australia's most awarded Sauvignon Blanc over the past 5 years and a Halliday Top 100 wine. Sourced primarily from one of Australia’s finest Sauvignon Blanc vineyards, the low yielding parcels were picked by individual rows from our Adelaide Hills vineyards over a two week period ensuring optimum ripeness. Chilled grapes were gently pressed in our winery and fermented using only free-run juice.

Predominantly fruit was sourced from within the high altitude cool pockets of the central Onkaparinga Valley, including Lenswood, Balhannah, Oakbank, Woodside and Charleston to produce a classic Adelaide Hills sauvignon blanc.

The Adelaide Hills is recognised as one of Australia’s finest Sauvignon Blanc growing regions: altitude, soils and weather patterns seem to draw the best from this variety. Sourced from a vineyard in Carey Gully that Stephen has worked with for over twelve years, consistently delivering fruit freshness and natural acidity. Stylistically opposed to Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, a wine more akin to the food friendly nature of Sancerre or Graves.
