”A very fine Coonawarra Cabernet from a superb vintage, the fruit hails from a single vineyard at the southern end of the region. After fermentation, the wine spent a year maturing in French oak, 15% of which was new. A deep maroon hue here, with notes of licorice, blackberries, spices, cloves, black olives, warm earth, a flick of oak and pleasing chocolatey flavours, which really come to the fore on the palate. Rich, quite delicious and seriously good value. Good balance, sleek tannins and a persistent finish. This will continue to drink beautifully from now and over at least the next eight years.”
