The history of Cafaggio dates back more than 600 years, with the first document attesting its existence in 1408, when the property was owned by the Benedictine monks of Siena before passing the estate into the hands of various owners from wealthy families to hospitals. Today, the estate covers more than 60 hectares and is nestled in the ‘Conca d’Oro’ (Golden Basin), an area recognised as the finest zone for producing Chianti Classico. Chianti Classico is exclusively produced with grapes cultivated in estate vineyards and offers a fine mix of cherry and raspberry with earth, liquorice and savory, mineral accents.
