”A deep purple-red and enticing, so too the aromas of soy sauce, exotic spices especially cloves and star anise with kirsch and red jubes. Full-bodied, plush with velvety, supple tannins and pomegranate tartness. A richer, denser style than usual thanks to the inclusion of a substantial component from Seppeltsfield, as the usual sourcing site at Dorrien had been affected, in part, by smoke taint. This showed all the exuberance of youth and freshness. Andrew Caillard says “no vineyard can withstand the effects of a bushfire. As a consequence, provenance of this wine is different but the spirit of collation and regional definition is the same.”
