”When a mix-up in the cellar results in a barrel of Parker Coonawarra cabernet sauvignon blended with five barriques of Barossa Valley mataro, it's either a stuff-up or serendipity. Thankfully it's the latter. Pale-mid ruby; an intriguing mix of warm earth, ferrous, dried herbs and menthol to the satsuma plums and cassis fruit. It's exceptionally savoury with refreshing cranberry-like acidity, and slinky, fine tannins ensure this is a beautifully modulated wine. According to Andrew Caillard, who paints the labels, Pinxit means ‘one painted' used as a suffix to an artist's signature during the Middle Ages to guarantee authenticity.”
