”There’s a lot of youthful energy with this wine. A beautifully captured regional statement of lifted florals, plum, blueberry, earthiness with a Dutch liquorice saline quality that contributes and accentuates the brightness. The black peppery notes, quite distinct, are a nice regional bonus. The palate is supple in tannins and flavoursome with an attractive lightly savoury quality highlighted with some mocha-choc oak. Many Margaret River producers don’t believe Shiraz has a future in the region, and some who did think it had a future have been slowly grafting it over to Marg’s number one red, Cabernet. That’s where the demand is. I’d like to think that wines like this show what is possible.”
