Eisenstone Wines celebrate the many recognised sub regions that vary in climate and soil type in the Barossa Valley that bring out subtle differences in the Shiraz variety. Winemaker Stephen Cook creates each wine in the same method, letting the vineyards speak for themselves. The Matcheoss vineyard lies to the western side of Greenock Greek and is the source of grapes for this wine. The vineyard is situated in deep red soils that slop gently to the east.

Food Pairing

Pairs well with strong, hard cheeses such as cheddar, roasted or grilled meats, and beef stew.

”Deep, bright red-purple colour; the bouquet likewise bright and fresh, initially with a high-note of freshly-sawn oak, which dissipated somewhat with time in the glass. The palate is bright, intense and elegantly weighted, just making the full-bodied weight category. It's quite oaky but has good approachability, medium-long carry, and the tannins are ample and very supple.”
