Eisenstone Wines celebrate the many recognised sub regions that vary in climate and soil type in the Barossa Valley that bring out subtle differences in the Shiraz variety. Winemaker Stephen Cook creates each wine in the same method, letting the vineyards speak for themselves. The grapes were sourced from Roennfeldt Road in the sub-region of Marananga in the Barossa Valley. The original vineyard was rejuvenated by Gil McDonald in the late 1970s and 1980s. The grapes for the single vineyard wine are sourced partly from vines grafted to Shiraz from Crouchen in 1974, and also 1998 plantings of Penfolds SC clone.
