Derived from the Latin and Greek words "Petra / Petros," meaning "stone" or "rock," this wine is attributed to Charles' father, Peter, who is the infamous "rock" of the family and a lover of a bold, cool-climate Shiraz. Sourced from a single block of 26-year-old shiraz at Dixons Creek, the fruit was hand-harvested, de-stemmed, and chilled before being crushed into open-top vats for fermentation on skins. It was left on skins for 21 days before being pressed off into French barrique and matured in barrel for 22 months.
