This wine combines bright notes of pomegranate, sarsaparilla, violets and nutmeg typical of dry grown tempranillo, with the perfume and succulence of old vine grenache. This medium bodied wine is pretty and deliberately moreish. A lithe and juicy wine, it errs on the blood orange, cherry, red berry spectrum on the palate supported by savoury tannins built around a nervy structure.

”An 84/16% blend; the tempranillo 15% whole bunches (including a portion carbonic macerated), 85% whole-berries in an open ferment; the old-vine (up to 100yo) grenache was destemmed and open fermented in large vats; after basket pressing, matured in a mix of stainless steel, old French puncheons and a 5000L old foudre for 10 months. A very complex, tight-knit blend of dark fruits ex the tempranillo which subjugate the old-vine grenache, the stern tannins making their presence felt right from the outset. All this said and done, this will repay cellaring.”
