Angela Shiraz is sourced from a single site in the southern McLaren Vale sub-district of Sellicks Hill. Our aim is to produce a wine that is medium bodied, floral and elegant with fruit expression at the fore. Fruit is picked at a balance point between aromatics and intensity. Cool ferments with twice daily pump overs before barrel maturation with restrained use of new oak allows the fruit to shine. Named in honour of Angela Mitolo, matriarch of the Mitolo family. .

Awash with ripe plum fruit, it is framed by savoury notes of cedar, earth and ground coffee. Powerful and concentrated, the flavours integrate seamlessly with the fine-grained tannins and bright acidity.

The earthiness and structure of this wine calls for rich, creamy and full flavoured food; perhaps an Agnolotti (hand shaped small ravioli) served with a butter and sage sauce.
