The details for the Vitulus Shiraz are almost identical to those of the Bull Trader, with the exception that this single Coonawarra vineyard was planted thirty years ago, not 35. For me, the pick of the latest set of releases from this winery. Loved it. Dark maroon in colour, there are touches of dried herbs, garden notes and red cherries on the nose. Even a hint of stonefruit, as though there was a dollop of Viognier included (there is not, as far as I am aware). Chocolate and leather round things out. Good intensity and serious length here, perhaps more so than in any of the other current releases. Good balance and some early complexity. A seriously good Coonawarra Shiraz with a decade ahead of it.
