SKU: TAHMUSMAR16
One of the world’s rarest grape varieties, with its origins in France’s Rhone Valley, Tahbilk’s history with Marsanne can be traced back to original plantings in the 1860s. Although none have survived, the Estate produces Marsanne from vines established in 1927, which are among the oldest in the world, along with having the world’s largest single holding of the varietal. Given the character and complexity that comes with time in the bottle, small quantities of Marsanne are mindfully cellared at Tahbilk prior to being re-released under a distinctive ‘Museum Release’ label.

”A fabulous follow-up vintage to the excellent 2015, encapsulating all the beauty of the Rhône grape that comes with bottle age. The characters we see in youth remain: the honeysuckle, jasmine florals and citrus force. Built around them are complexing additions through age, of hay, almond meal, pear skin and apricot nut. Acidity is firm but also soft. Stunning value, as always.”
