SKU: TORHILSHR23
Due to Torbreck's success in co-fermenting shiraz and viognier, they thought it would be interesting to co-ferment the skins from roussanne with shiraz. They selected a shiraz vineyard in Lyndoch, SA that gave them the perfect structure and purity of fruit to balance the aromatics of the roussanne. Once the juice was gently whole bunch pressed from the roussanne grapes, the skins were added to the shiraz and co-fermented. The resulting wine is as unique as it is intense; beautifully lifted and balanced and surprisingly distinctive.

”A co-fermented blend of 93/7% shiraz/roussanne. It's not a new thing in the Barossa, this splash of white wine in red. More of it I say. It's all blueberry and doris plum with violet top notes and dabs of spice, milk chocolate, bay leaf, pan juices, cured meats and earth. There's depth and juicy blue and black fruits, but the detail is there, too. Light shines in on some blossomy top notes and silty tannins come in behind, drawing out long and plummy.”
