It is rumoured that the inventor of the Stump Jump plough, which enabled a ploughshare to jump over tree roots, had poor eyesight and required regular tests to ensure he could still operate machinery. The design of this label is inspired by an optometrist's eyechart and serves as a makeshift sobriety test.

Tyrrells Vat 1 Hunter Valley Semillon 2018

Our Vat 1 Semillon is only ever made using fruit from our best old-vine, dry-grown vineyards. The centrepiece is always our Short Flat vineyard, where the oldest plantings date back to 1923. The soil profile in this dry-grown vineyard is unlike that of any of our other vineyards, providing the Vat 1 with its amazing length and depth of fruit.  Vintage 2018 was another strong Semillon vintage in the Hunter Valley. Dry, warm conditions that were similar to 2003 meant cropping levels were much smaller than average and produced wines with robust flavours and softer acids. All of the fruit was hand picked and carefully sorted in the vineyard. After a relatively cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine spent a minimal time on yeast lees before being bottled early to maintain its freshness. No oak fermentation or maturation.  Delicate citrus aromas. The palate has a density and depth of fruit which only comes from special vineyard blocks. This robust fruit profile is balanced by the wines texture and soft acid profile giving it an approachability now, however will age well into the future.  Alcohol – 12.0% Cellaring – 10+ years

Experience the elegance of fiano, a Mediterranean gem refined in King Valley. With pale straw hues and lime-green accents, it bursts with aromas of fresh pear, lemon peel, and hazelnuts. The palate is vibrant yet rich, offering citrus, honey, and subtle pine nut flavors, all wrapped in a silky, waxy texture. Matured for six months in French oak.

Jim Barry The Lodge Hill Riesling 2024

Jim Barry purchased the land for the Lodge Hill vineyard in 1977 as he was sure it would “produce some of the best riesling in Clare.” Situated on the eastern ranges of the township of Clare, Lodge Hill is one of the highest vineyards in the Valley - at an altitude of 480 metres - and is ideal for producing steely, minerally rieslings, distinctive to the area.
