This Heirloom Vineyards A'Lambra Barossa Valley Shiraz was produced from our best Barossa Valley Shiraz Vineyard whose clones and viticulture embody the very best in cutting edge but old school viticulture and winemaking. Hand tended vines, sorted bunch-by-bunch, naturally open fermented, basket pressed and stored in French oak barriques from bespoke coopers.

The palate is velvet. Texture. Tannin. Tannin just in the background providing essential support and structure to the rich and deep fruit flavours. Savoury plums and white chocolate. A long acid finish that stretches this tightly coiled red wine out. Here is the quintessential Barossa Valley shiraz. Flavours run the gamut; eucalyptus to raspberry; blackberry to pepper; olive to plum.

Heirloom Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

The 2019 Heirloom Coonawarra Cabernet offers aromas of cassis, green herbs, succulents, and just bloomed African Violets. At the core of this wine is a blackhole of pure cassis and unalloyed black currant. The seamless structure promotes silkiness, yet it is underscored so definitively by super fine tannins that swirl around a heart of dense mid-palate fruit. Black and blueberry, on point mulberry, green tobacco leaf, a charred and skinned red pepper.

The Heirloom Vineyards Anevo Fortress McLaren Vale Grenache 60% Touriga 25% Tempranillo 15% produced from our best McLaren Vale Vineyards whose clones and viticulture embody the very best in cutting edge but old school viticulture and winemaking. Hand tended vines, whole bunch fermented, basket pressed and matured in French oak barrels for 15 months; 20% new French oak. 

On paper this ought to be a BIG red wine. It is, and it isn’t. The red varietals that combine herein can make monsterish wines. This example is the road less travelled by. The power shelters rather than strides; the fruit flavours play, rather than march; and the wine’s weight glides rather than sinks. This is a serious wine that has a welcoming attitude.

This is what Coonawarra does best - producing ripe and luscious berry fruits yet never foregoing the discipline and manner of noble tannins. Power with grace, as the tannins are tempered by the berry fruit brightness and dichotomous density. Decant at luncheon and drink for dinner, or have your cellarmaster put it away for up to 20 years.

The 2020 Heirloom McLaren Vale Touriga offers aromas of graphite and lead, galvanized iron, fountain pen ink, lavender, rosemary, plum skin, dried tangerine peel and slate. The palate showcases a textural encyclopedia of tannins and acids. Cranberry, blueberry, boysenberry, mulberry and reduced plums. The acid and the tannins, the latter which are so infinitely fine, drive the line and length of this powerful yet friendly red wine. It is beguilingly approachable and yet also savory. A rewarding and satisfying finish.
