Halliday Ultimate Red Dozen with $150 wine

An out-of-this-world case of some of the best reds that Australia has to offer and highly rated by James Halliday’s Wine Companion. Leading the charge is the peerless Helios Cabernet Sauvignon by Penley, with a usual bottle RRP of $150, rated 96 points by JH. Not to be outdone there’s also the barnstorming Old Paddock & Old Hill Shiraz from Hunter greats Mount Pleasant, rated 97 points, a trio of 96-point rated wines in the form of the Crayeres Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz from Terre a Terre, the McLaren Vale Shiraz from Heirloom Vineyards, and the classic Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon. Other big hitters include the 2016 Basket Pressed Cellar Release from SA trailblazers Reynella, $69 RRP and the exceptional Schoolhouse Wines Coonawarra Shiraz valued at $80 RRP.

Bleasdale Ultimate Malbec Collection Six

Langhorne Creek icon, Bleasdale, are an historic producer, they have over 170 years of continuous winemaking by the direct descendants of the founding Potts family. Malbec has found a home in South Australia’s cooler Langhorne Creek, and Bleasdale produced the region’s first table wine from the variety in 1961. This case combines their consistently excellent, Halliday Wine Companion 96-point rated Generations expression, along with a bottle each of three different single-vineyard malbecs, each with its own unique characteristics and rated 95-96 points by the Wine Companion. 

Luxury 95 Point Icon Shiraz + Cabernet Duo

The magic of Coonawarra is on display here with two 95 point red wines. Includes the iconic Wynns Black Label Shiraz 2019, a wine that has consistently delivered vintage after vintage and proven it can stand the test of time. Plus the Leconfield Sydney Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 (valued at $100), a legendary wine honouring wine industry legend and Leconfield founder, Sydney Hamilton.

Shiraz Selection Dozen

Australian wine drinkers and shiraz, a love affair of the ages! It’s the country’s most widely planted variety and probably the most renowned area of production are the wine regions of South Australia. Here you’ll find two bottles each of these shining examples of shiraz, including wine from McLaren Vale legends Wirra Wirra, a Halliday Wine Companion 5-star rated producer, plus another McLaren Vale wine from Ulithorne, the 95-point rated Immortelle Shiraz. Icon region the Barossa is represented by Purple Hands and their After Five Wine Co Shiraz, a gold medal winner, and from Robe, an up-and-coming region on the Limestone Coast is Stonehaven’s LVR Shiraz, awarded 95 points by Halliday.
