Bleasdale Mulberry Tree Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

With deep alluvial floodplains and the maritime influence of Lake Alexandrina, Langhorne Creek is home to some of Australia’s best soils and growing conditions. Frank Potts realised this when he established Bleasdale in 1850. The iconic Mulberry Tree vineyard, named after the ancient tree that grows adjacent to the vineyard on the banks of the Bremer River, consistently produces fruit of exceptional quality.

Thistledown The Unforgettable Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2022

Classic blend of grapes from various old vineyards in South Australia. The animal heads in this range were meant to represent something about the character of the wine. When Thistledown produced the first vintage of this they felt it was the best wine they had made at this level, so chose an elephant, as the wine is unforgettable and an elephant never forgets.

Bleasdale Second Innings Malbec 2021

Bleasdale’s founder Frank Potts, bequeathed the majority of his business to his sixth son, Frank Potts II. Frank Potts II played an important role in Bleasdale’s history, being responsible for building its famed red gum press. The Second Innings Malbec label depicts Frank Potts II taking part in a family game of cricket on the Bleasdale property.

Metala William Formby Shiraz 2018

The William Formby Shiraz is sourced from five exceptional blocks within the single vineyard. Each parcel is individually managed in the winery and kept separate until final blend. Upon reaching the winery it received a 12-15 day maceration with minimal racking and handling. This is partly due to the uniquely designed gravity  'lift' tank in the winery, ensuring a soft winemaking style to the wine. Maturation was in French oak puncheons and seasoned French and American barriques for 18 months.

Metala William Formby Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

The fruit sourced for the William Formby Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the best sections of the single vineyard. The fruit is harvested in two parcels which are kept separate in the vineyard until the final blend. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks, with a 10-14 day maceration. It sees minimal intervention in the winery, including the use of a uniquely designed gravity 'lift' tank that ensures the wine retains all natural flavours and brightness. The wine is then matured in a combination of new French oak puncheons and barriques for around 18 months.

Metala White Label Shiraz Cabernet 2021

Each year the blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon is assessed based on the fruit we see in the winery. The 2021 vintage is a blend of 80% Shiraz and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit was harvested in the cool of the early morning to retain all the natural acidity. A portion of the Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in seasoned French oak barriques while a portion of the Shiraz was seasoned in French and American hogsheads and barriques each for around 12-13 months. Minimal winemaking intervention with the use of a uniquely designed gravity 'lift' tank.

Metala White Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

The Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested as four separate parcels which were kept separate in the winery and only brought together in the final blend. The wine was matured in a combination of seasoned French oak barriques with 5% in new French oak hogsheads for around 12 months. Minimal winemaking intervention with the use of a uniquely designed gravity 'lift' tank.

Bleasdale Generations Shiraz 2020

Shiraz was the first red grape variety planted in Langhorne Creek at Bleasdale in 1858. Drinking well now, but with the potential to be a long term cellaring prospect if desired. After a period of cellaring, it is normal for some sediment to form. Decanting one hour before drinking is recommended.

Bleasdale Frank Potts Cabernet Blends 2020

This wine is layered and complex with red berry and darker fruit aromas. These characters continue onto the palate, with fruit layers supported by fine oak tannin and lively berry persistence. After a period of cellaring, it is normal for some sediment to form; decanting one - two hours prior to drinking is recommended.

Rosemount Little Berry Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

The Rosemount Little Berry Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 offers pleasing savoury aromatics of tomato concassé, bay leaf and fresh sage, fruit spectrum showing black currant, cranberry and dark chocolate. The palate features fine grained tannins with a firm structure supporting the savoury elements of the wine. Black currant playing its part along with some subtler red fruit. The wine is well balanced with great length, a friendly yet confident intensity and a well-polished finish.

Minimal racking and winemaking intervention with the use of a uniquely designed gravity 'lift' tank.

A generous, opulent palate built around a core of finely textured tannins.A delicious drink in its youth, however this wine can be cellared for a number of years for those that have the patience and enjoy more savoury secondary characters.
