Wellington Road is the original name for the road that connects Langhorne Creek with the River Murray crossing town named for the Duke of Wellington. It is on this road that Bleasdale has sat since it was established in 1850.

Bleasdale Mulberry Tree Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

With deep alluvial floodplains and the maritime influence of Lake Alexandrina, Langhorne Creek is home to some of Australia’s best soils and growing conditions. Frank Potts realized this when he established Bleasdale in 1850. The iconic Mulberry Tree vineyard, named after the ancient tree that grows adjacent to the vineyard on the banks of the Bremer River, consistently produces fruit of exceptional quality.

Bleasdale The Powder Monkey Shiraz 2018

In 1824, aged nine, Bleasdale founder Frank Potts joined the British Royal Navy as one of its dutiful powder monkeys, responsible for carrying gunpowder from the magazine below decks to the many cannons during battle. This wine celebrates the adventure of a young Frank Potts.
A single vineyard wine from our very best Shiraz vineyard, located behind the cellars. The block is planted to three clones and pruned to various methods to enhance the layers and complexity of the resultant wine. An agile viticultural strategy to thrive in drought or flood.

Bleasdale The Iron Duke Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

During the 1870s Imperial Russia was considered the British Empire’s most dangerous enemy. On the distant shores of South Australia, a very real (but quite unfounded) fear of invasion followed, and volunteers were rallied to keep the marauding Russians at bay.
Frank Potts led the local army equipped with his trusty muzzle-loader ‘The Iron Duke’, named for the Duke of Wellington. This wine celebrates Frank’s community leadership.
This wine has been naturally fined and racked before bottling without filtration, it is normal for some sediment to form. Decanting two hours prior to drinking is recommended.

Bleasdale Grenache 2021

Bleasdale has grown Grenache for use in fortified and table wine blends for decades. The 2021 vintage presented an excellent opportunity for a varietal Grenache, with some delicious vibrant fruit. This wine has been made with minimal yet attentive winemaking, and is bottled with low sulphites for early consumption, a versatile wine for all seasons. $30.00

Bleasdale Syrah 2021

Handpicked from some of our oldest estate vines, this Syrah has been fermented with 20% whole bunches before pressing to French Oak puncheons for 9 months maturation. $30.00

Bleasdale Tempranillo 2021

Bleasdale has played around with Tempranillo on and off for the past 15 years, useful in fortified wine blending, Tempranillo also makes delicious table wines. The 2021 vintage presented an opportunity to make a youthful and juicy red and so when we were offered a small parcel of grapes we leapt at the chance. This wine has been made with minimal yet attentive winemaking and is bottled with low sulphites for early consumption, a perfect spring/summer red.

Bleasdale Cabernet Franc 2021

Bleasdale has been using Cabernet Franc in blends for over 25 years. The opportunity to present the varietal on its own was too hard to resist, especially as a bouncy, fresh and crunchy red. This wine has been made with minimal yet attentive winemaking and is bottled with low sulphites for early consumption, a perfect spring/summer red. $30.00

Bleasdale Second Innings Malbec 2019 1500ml Magnum

Bleasdale’s founder Frank Potts, bequeathed the majority of his business to his sixth son, Frank Potts II. Frank Potts II played an important role in Bleasdale’s history, being responsible for building its famed red gum press. The Second Innings Malbec label depicts Frank Potts II taking part in a family game of cricket on the Bleasdale property. Malbec is rarely seen as a varietal wine in Australia but here at Bleasdale and in Langhorne Creek it stands on its own two feet and performs well enough to earn its stripes. $22

The Rosemount Little Berry Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 offers pleasing savoury aromatics of tomato concassé, bay leaf and fresh sage, fruit spectrum showing black currant, cranberry and dark chocolate. The palate features fine grained tannins with a firm structure supporting the savoury elements of the wine. Black currant playing its part along with some subtler red fruit. The wine is well balanced with great length, a friendly yet confident intensity and a well-polished finish.
