Jericho Ancient Stones Shiraz 2022

Elegant, complex and intriguing, our most ambitious effort yet, Ancient Stones is hand harvested from the top two rows of the oldest shiraz on our Bracken vineyard. A labour of love in both the vineyard and the winery.

Yangarra Estate Ironheart Shiraz 2020

Ironheart is the flagship Shiraz from our single vineyard estate in Blewitt Springs at the northern edge of McLaren Vale. The vineyard’s northern aspect, higher elevation and sandy ironstone soils produce Shiraz with immense concentration and finesse.

Hardys Eileen Hardy Shiraz 2017

The 2017 Eileen Hardy Shiraz represents the pinnacle of McLaren Vale Shiraz for Hardys. This release sees the Upper Tintara vineyard, home of the original Tintara Winery, produce outstanding fruit from the contoured vineyard planted in 1892.

Eileen Hardy was the Hardy family matriarch, an indomitable spirit and the first lady of Australian wine; her love of life still echoes through every Hardys wine and provides the inspiration to be the best. Winemakers select only the very best handpicked parcels of fruit from regions throughout Australia to carry the Eileen name. The inaugural 1970 Eileen Hardy Shiraz was released as a tribute to this great lady. Each vintage the winemakers select the very best  parcels of Shiraz from McLaren Vale to carry the ‘Eileen Hardy’ label.

Wirra Wirra The Absconder Grenache 2022

Absconder Grenache is made from a vineyard planted in the time of Wirra Wirra’s founder Robert Strangways Wigley. Wigley was an eccentric whose lust for life had at times seen him fall foul of the law in his home town. In fact, one episode involving the ‘acquisition’ of the famous Adelaide pie-cart and a joy ride through the city streets was the catalyst for banishment to McLaren Vale. However Wigley did not abscond into the wilderness. He became known for his world class wines - including fortifieds made with the grenache of the day - and helped to build the reputation of McLaren Vale.

Wirra Wirra Original Blend Grenache Shiraz 2023

In 1972, cousins Greg and Roger Trott produced a dry red wine from grapes grown on Greg’s vineyard adjacent to the small Bethany Chapel opposite Wirra Wirra. This blend of grenache and shiraz became the first ‘Church Block’. Taking on advice from friends and mentors, Trott evolved Church Block over the years to its popular signature blend of cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and merlot. Yet still there were those who bemoaned the loss of the original blend of grenache and shiraz. So at various times over the years, when the planets have aligned, we have re-created the grenache shiraz offering and released it under the imaginatively titled ‘Original Blend’ moniker. With a look and feel harking back to simpler times, this latest release of Original Blend Grenache Shiraz is limited in number, but not imagination.

Jericho McLaren Vale S3 Shiraz 2021

A generously dense, nonetheless, balanced Shiraz with complex spice and floral flavours typical of the Blewitt Springs sub region. A lovely intensity of rich, dark Shiraz flavours pair with elegant structure and plush tannins to lend this wine an air of easy drinkability. Bright fruits abound here – blackberries, cassis, and plums. Meandering throughout are floral notes of violets and lavender, mixing with delicate baking spice.

d'Arenberg The Anthropocene Epoch Mencia 2021

Walking the vineyard rows and tasting grapes, fourth generation family member, Chester Osborn, determines the ideal picking time for each individual vineyard. Small batches of grapes are gently crushed and then transferred to open fermenters. Foot treading is undertaken two thirds of the way through fermentation, the wine is basket pressed and transferred to old French oak to complete fermentation and mature for nine months. An aromatic wine full of pretty flowers and berry aromas, best enjoyed young.

d'Arenberg The Laughing Magpie Shiraz Viognier 2018

An enticing mix of primary fruit characters entwined with flowers, ginger and stone fruit. Another impeccably good offering from Chester Osborne combining rich and voluptuous McLaren Vale Shiraz with lifted fragrant Viognier. d'Arenberg is one of the pioneers of this style, the 'Magpie' continues to go from strength to strength.

MMAD Vineyard Grenache 2021

Lovely mild ripening conditions produced Grenache of great intensity. There is a purity and a density, but also a lightness that belies the energy and power of the fruit.  The aromatics are intense and perfumed with notes of raspberry coulis, cinnamon and a hint of fennel seed which unfurl in the glass. The grapes were mostly destemmed and fermented as whole berries in open concrete and stainless steel before ageing in used 500 litre puncheons.

Munda Kaurna Country Blewitt Springs Syrah 2021

Munda Wines is majority Indigenous owned and tells stories from Country through its fine wines. Munda is the Wirangu & Kokatha word for land or country, or our depiction of the French term 'terroir.' Kaurna Country, also known as McLaren Vale, from the sub-region of Blewitt Springs prized for its deep, sandy soils which gives a grippiness to the Syrah and a fine texture. Partially de-stemmed with 10% whole bunch with the remaining fruit retained whole with wild yeast fermentation. Cellared for 16 months in 2nd & 3rd use French Oak puncheons. Medium to full bodied, blueberry, plum and layers of spice.

Koomilya JC Shiraz 2021

A single block shiraz from 49 year old vines grown on ancient, dark grey slate siltstone rich in ironstone rubble, facing south-west at an altitude of 120m. The JC Block is named for Jill Cant, the previous owner, and was the first block Stephen worked with on the vineyard during his tenure as Chief Red Winemaker at Hardy's.

Maxwell Wines Eight Bells Shiraz 2021

Eight Bells' in nautical terms represents the  finish of a sailor's time on watch - a time to relax and enjoy something to eat and drink, and the company of other crew members.  This is perfect for such occasions, be they at sea or on land...

Wirra Wirra Catapult Shiraz 2022

The late Greg Trott saw many of his unusual dreams realised at Wirra Wirra. Yet one vision eluded him - to build a medieval siege machine, or trebuchet. Why? To use as a catapult to bomb neighbouring  wineries with bottles of wine of course. This wine is part of a range, the RGT collection which remembers the pioneering spirit of Richard Gregory Trott.

Bec Hardy Lot 94 Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

Bestowing a modern-day twist on six generations of winemaking heritage, Bec’s wines are the result of careful selection and technique; letting nature guide the process, and only intervening when required. The result is a collection of elegant wines displaying their true varietal characters, with good palate weight and complexity, and that can be enjoyed young or mature, with food or simply on their own.

Heirloom Adelaide Hills Tempranillo 2019

The 2019 Heirloom Adelaide Hills Tempranillo offers classic tempranillo aromatics of black cherry, pepper, cherry pip, African Violets, cola nut and spearmint. This wine is juicy yet dry on the palate, but then again tempranillo is a creature of split, multiple personalities. At each stage of the palate there is an interplay with fruit and acid and tannin. The final highlight is the never-ending length of the wine.

Wirra Wirra Woodhenge Shiraz 2022

Woodhenge is a monument to ‘big’ ideas and to Greg Trott’s unique vision of what makes Wirra Wirra special and well, a bloody big fence that weighs about 10 tonnes. This wine is a tribute to the region, the grape variety and the foresight of a wine man that, like Woodhenge, typifies the individuality of McLaren Vale.

Coriole Willunga 1920 Shiraz 2020

This 2-acre vineyard was planted in 1920 in the foothills of Willunga. The soils are deep, gravelly loams and this block shows beautiful old vine complexity with a suppleness of the rich Willunga soils.

Brokenwood Rayner Vineyard Shiraz 2020

Another great release for this iconic single vineyard wine. An excellent densely coloured shiraz typical of the McLaren Vale region. Dark fruit pastille aromas, plum and vanillin oak in the background. Sweet fruit entry on the palate, dark chocolate and a medium to full-bodied mouth feel. A stylish shiraz and one to age over the long term.

Sherrah Shiraz 2021

Single vineyard, whole berry, small batch open ferment. Matured in 15% new and 2-3 year old French oak. The king of the Vale. A medium to full bodied Shiraz, bridging old style charm and power with new style freshness and structure. Fruit from the Lacey vineyard in the Tatachilla sub region of southern McLaren Vale. Sandy Loam over limestone base scattered with ironstone fragments, 1654 clone vines planted on their own roots. Fruit was machine harvested by a Pelenc Selectiv® harvester with onboard de-stemmer, this resulted in the grapes being delivered straight to the open fermenter requiring no further destemming or crushing. Whole berries, cultured yeast, hand plunged for 14 days then gently pressed to seasoned French Hogs Heads plus a new French Puncheon and Hogs Head (15% overall). Natural malolactic fermentation occurred, aged for 20 months prior to bottling.

In Two Minds Grenache 2024

The essence of pure McLaren Vale Grenache, this wine is unoaked to champion the pure strawberry, raspberry, cherry and spice that sings from the glass.

Mitolo Perduto Pecorino 2023

Once thought to have completely vanished from its native Italian home, Pecorino was rediscovered in the late 20th century amongst the rubble of a neglected vineyard. Pecorino, not to be confused with the sheep-derived hard cheese, can produce highly complex white wines brimming with floral aromatics and textural character. Sourced from McLaren Vale’s first pecorino plantings less than 4km from the coast at Aldinga, Mitolo’s Perduto is no exception.
