Longview Macclesfield Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Cabernet Sauvignon needs constant attention in cool-climate vineyards, even with a near-perfect site for the vines; ample sun to ripen tannin and cool nights to retain natural acidity. However, being in a cool-climate, ensuring they get enough sun (but not so much that the wine is jammy) and enough shade (but not enough for the wine to be green), is a delicate balancing act. Hand-picked fruit is delivered to the winery after chilling overnight. It is crushed and de-stemmed into open fermenters, where pump overs occur throughout the day. Following primary fermentation, the cabernet sees up to 10 days further on skins, then pressed, settled, and racked into old French oak puncheons to undergo malolactic fermentation. It then ages in barrel for a further 15 months.

Bulman Gary's Vineyard McLaren Vale Grenache 2024

Part of the North Maslin Sand formation. Sitting on a ridge above and benefitting from the orographic lift of McLaren Vale. Facing North on a gentle slope above the Onkaparinga Gorge. Dry grown by Gary Whaite, the 2024 vintage was much drier and warmer than 2023. The resultant wines have less spice but more inherent power. Less whole bunch was used to push the fruit and tannin forward.

Haselgrove Ambassador Shiraz 2021

Haselgrove’s very own estate selected shiraz has been very proudly named after our ambassador, Les Burdett OAM. All individually numbered, with proceeds from the sale of the 3,048 bottles donated to Les Burdett’s charity of choice – Variety, the Children’s Charity. Selected from Haselgrove’s own vineyards in McLaren Flat from vines planted in 1972. Soil is deep sand to sandy loam over clay. Very gentle north westerly aspect with East West row orientation allows more delicate characteristics to develop. Characteristics common to the sub region include blueberry fruit, some red fruit, plums and a subtle violet lift with elegant tannins.

Bulman Glen's Vineyard Eden Valley Grenache 2024

The Stonegarden Vineyard was established in 1857 it sits at 390m altitude, in the rain shadow of the Mount Lofty ranges on a plateau looking easterly over the Murray Mallee. Glen Monaghan grew the grenache for the 2024 vintage, which was much drier and warmer than 2023. The resultant wines have less spice but more inherent power. Less whole bunch was used to push the fruit and tannin forward.

Koomilya Estate Cabernet Touriga 2021

Upon purchasing the vineyard in 2012 Stephen Pannell saw it as an ideal place to create blends that included grape varieties he believed will see McLaren Vale into the future, and further, and complement the traditional varieties of cabernet sauvignon and shiraz. He grafted two contoured and terraced blocks on deep red soil closest to the scrub at the top of the south-facing slope to touriga nacional with the intention of blending with tempranillo, graciano and mataro. Blending with cabernet sauvignon was never planned, but as fate would have it, there is a magic between the two varieties that can’t be ignored.

Ironheart is the flagship Shiraz from our single vineyard estate in Blewitt Springs at the northern edge of McLaren Vale. The vineyard’s northern aspect, higher elevation and sandy ironstone soils produce Shiraz with immense concentration and finesse.

Grant Burge Corryton Park Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Bright fresh blackberry and mint flood the palate with fresh tarragon, lemon thyme and sage. Chocolate layered tannins provide a mint chocolate experience with huge complexity from the herbal notes. The tannins are incredibly fine and dense with a lengthy palate

Purple Hands After Five Wine Co Aglianico 2023

The vineyard was planted in 2011 and is own-rooted, the clone is FP501. The vineyard has been run organically since late mid-2017. After nine days on skins the open fermenter was basket pressed and transferred into a single new French oak hogshead with the balance to one to four year old French oak hogsheads to undergo malolactic fermentation.
