Leogate Malabar Reserve Shiraz 2019

The Malabar Shiraz is produced from an isolated parcel of fruit selected from Leogate Estates, 55 year old, Brokenback Vineyard and produced in very limited quantities from low yielding, dry grown vines. The 2019 vintage received 95 points in the James Halliday Wine Companion and is currently served on Qantas First Class.

Lenton Brae Margaret River Cabernet Merlot 2022

A classic Margaret River blend, the tannin of cabernet sauvignon beautifully complements the mid palate fruitiness and softness of the merlot. The tannins are very fine, and  soft, adding structure and length to the immediately approachable  palate.

Wirra Wirra The Absconder Grenache 2022

Absconder Grenache is made from a vineyard planted in the time of Wirra Wirra’s founder Robert Strangways Wigley. Wigley was an eccentric whose lust for life had at times seen him fall foul of the law in his home town. In fact, one episode involving the ‘acquisition’ of the famous Adelaide pie-cart and a joy ride through the city streets was the catalyst for banishment to McLaren Vale. However Wigley did not abscond into the wilderness. He became known for his world class wines - including fortifieds made with the grenache of the day - and helped to build the reputation of McLaren Vale.

Houghton Thomas Yule Shiraz 2016

This Shiraz honours Thomas Newte Yule, who in 1836 was part of a syndicate of three British army officers who together purchased the northern half of a large land-holding in the Swan Valley. The property was named Houghton after the most senior of the trio – Lieutenant Colonel Richmond Houghton. During Thomas Yule’s management, the first vines were established. This Shiraz is sourced from the Frankland River wine- growing region - renowned for producing some of the best examples of Shiraz in Western Australia

Bleasdale Inveniam Viam Cabernet Malbec 2019

‘Inveniam Viam’ means ‘I Shall Find a Way’ in Latin. MMXIX is the Roman Numerals for the vintage 2019. The story on the back label: “ Never has a phrase better embodied Bleasdale’s founder, Frank Potts. A man who joined the navy at age nine, emigrated to South Australia at age 21 with naught but a carpentry set to his name, who then proceeded to establish a vineyard and winery that would carry on his legacy for more than 170 years and counting.”   The story on the inside of the presentation box: “Inveniam Viam perfectly captures the spirit of Bleasdale’s founder, Frank Potts, and his unwavering determination to overcome challenges and pursue innovation. In 1836 at the age of 21, Frank Potts emigrated to South Australia with nothing but a carpentry set to his name. He built a sailing boat to trade salt, which led to a commission to build a ferry. During his work on the ferry, Frank passed through Langhorne Creek, where he would later purchase the first sections of land and establish Bleasdale in 1850. Frank planted vineyards and developed an innovative system of levees and floodgates to take advantage of the natural flooding from the Bremer River, which still benefits the region today. In addition to his winery and house, Frank built a forge and became a skilled blacksmith to craft his own metal tools and equipment. Upon his retirement, he returned to his passion for boat-building and created several more river vessels.

Nightfall Draco Iron Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Nightfall wines are the epitome of luxury, style and exclusivity. Crafted from a pristine single vineyard site in the heart of Coonawarra. One of the largest constellations in the northern sky, Draco means “the dragon” in Latin. Draco represents Ladon, the dragon that guarded the gardens of the Hesperides in Greek mythology.

Sherrah Shiraz 2021

Single vineyard, whole berry, small batch open ferment. Matured in 15% new and 2-3 year old French oak. The king of the Vale. A medium to full bodied Shiraz, bridging old style charm and power with new style freshness and structure. Fruit from the Lacey vineyard in the Tatachilla sub region of southern McLaren Vale. Sandy Loam over limestone base scattered with ironstone fragments, 1654 clone vines planted on their own roots. Fruit was machine harvested by a Pelenc Selectiv® harvester with onboard de-stemmer, this resulted in the grapes being delivered straight to the open fermenter requiring no further destemming or crushing. Whole berries, cultured yeast, hand plunged for 14 days then gently pressed to seasoned French Hogs Heads plus a new French Puncheon and Hogs Head (15% overall). Natural malolactic fermentation occurred, aged for 20 months prior to bottling.
