Hatch Wines Eden Valley Flaxmans Riesling 2023

Chris “Hatch” Hatcher was a highly awarded corporate winemaker for almost 50 years and then in November 2023 released his own wines under the HATCH label. Flaxman’s Valley is one of the Australia’s classic regions for riesling. It is a sub-region of Eden Valley located almost 250 metres above the Barossa floor on the eastern slopes of the Barossa Ranges. The 2023 vintage at Eden Valley produced riesling fruit with great depth of flavour and wonderful natural acidity. 

Henschke Mount Edelstone Shiraz 2021 (Gift Box)

The beautiful and historic name Mount Edelstone is a translation from the German Edelstein meaning ‘gemstone’, a reference to the small yellow opals once found in the area. The Mount Edelstone Vineyard was planted in 1912 by Ronald Angas, a descendant of George Fife Angas who founded The South Australian Company and played a significant role in the formation and establishment of South Australia. Unusual for its time, the vineyard was planted solely to shiraz. The ancient 500-million-year-old geology in the vineyard has given rise to soils that are deep red-brown clay-loam to clay, resulting in low yields from the dry-grown, un-grafted centenarian vines. The wine was first bottled as a single-vineyard shiraz in 1952 by fourth-generation Cyril Henschke.

St Hallett Blackwell Shiraz 2021

The St Hallett Blackwell 2021 is crimson red with purple hues. Aromas of blackberry tart, lashings of berry coulis, fine cocoa and sweet spice elevate from the glass. Intense flavours of blackberry and mulberry are complemented by waves of milk chocolate and sweet baking spice flow across the palate. The supple tannins are well polished, persistent and complemented by the well-balance oak. This full bodied, rich and opulent wine is perfectly structured to ensure the wine will age gracefully throughout the years.

Houghton Chardonnay Classic 2024

The Houghton Classic Chardonnay is a full flavoured wine displaying stone fruit and citrus flavours. The palate is long and textured with hints of hazelnut, brioche and vanilla derived from oak maturation.

Henschke The Wheelwright Shiraz 2021

The Wheelwright, first released to commemorate 150 years of Henschke family winemaking, pays tribute to our founder, winemaker Johann Christian Henschke (1803-1873). He was among the first generation of the early German Silesian community of the Barossa in South Australia and established the family winery in 1868. Johann Christian arrived in 1841 as a skilled stonemason and wheelwright and planted his first vineyards in the high country of the picturesque Eden Valley. This wine is produced from old vine shiraz planted in 1968, a century later, by fourth-generation Cyril Henschke near the village of Eden Valley at 470m altitude. As per the Barossa Old Vine Charter, an ‘old vine’ is equal to or greater than 35 years of age.

Salomon Norwood Shiraz Cabernet 2022

This wine is dedicated to a forefather of the Salomon family who had established St. Ignatius College in the Adelaide suburb of Norwood in 1870. The grapes ripen on the Fleurieu Peninsula, home to small historic villages that dot the region’s rolling hills. The midday heat is balanced by cool afternoon winds rolling off the nearby Southern Ocean. The vineyards on the Fleurieu Peninsula extend south of Adelaide, including McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills and the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula.

Dandelion Chardonnay Twilight of the Adelaide Hills 2023

Whole bunches from our best Chardonnay Vineyard in the heart of the Adelaide Hills were hand-picked in the 2nd week of March, in the twilight, our Chardonnay’s acid sunrise, being the cool of early evening, then destemmed in small batches without crushing the fruit to fill our press exactly.  The free-run juice was then fermented in a small stainless steel tank between 11 and 14 degrees Celsius and then finished fermentation in some new and first-use French Oak Barriques. The wine has a high level of natural acidity, and although bone dry an alcohol of only 12.5%.  This 14th vintage of Twilight of the Adelaide Hills Chardonnay was bottled after 9 months with minimal winemaking artifact to capture the essence and purity of the vineyard.

Henschke Cyril Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

99% cabernet sauvignon and 1% merlot grown on the Cyril Henschke Vineyard on the Henschke Eden Valley property, managed with organic and biodynamic practices. Matured in 8% new and 92% seasoned French oak hogsheads for 18 months prior to blending and bottling. This wine carries the name of Stephen's father, fourth- generation Henschke winemaker, Cyril Henschke (1924-1979); a tribute to one of Australia's outstanding winemaking pioneers, who was renowned for old-vine, single-vineyard and quality varietal table wines. Cyril planted cabernet sauvignon at the Henschke Eden Valley property in the late 1960s. The cabernet sauvignon vines, along with cabernet franc and merlot, are planted on a north facing slope, and are managed with organic and biodynamic practices. First produced as a single-vineyard wine in 1978, Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon celebrates the incredible beauty that emerges from the vibrant rows of this Eden Valley vineyard, revered for its texture, depth, complexity and fine-grained tannins.

Tyrrells Vat 8 Hunter Valley Shiraz Cabernet 2018

The Tyrrell&#39;s Vat 8 Shiraz Cabernet 2018 offers aromas of rich plum fruit with dark berry flavours, chocolate and sweet spice. This is a modern style of Australian red that also respects the tradition of using varietal blending to make a more rounded wine.
