The Balvenie 12 YO American Oak Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml

From the Balvenie’s highly regarded ‘Stories’ series. Inspired to produce an even fruitier, sweeter Balvenie, Apprentice Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie had the bright idea to import Virgin Oak barrels from Kentucky. After deep toasting them at The Balvenie Cooperage they were filled with Balvenie aged in ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a delectably complex whisky with notes of candied fruit, coconut and delicate vanilla.

The Balvenie 16 Year Old French Oak Pineau Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml

The Balvenie French Oak is a vibrant single malt finished in casks previously held wine from the French Charentes vineyards. Pineau des Charentes is a fortified wine made from unfermented grape juice, to which a Cognac eau-de-vie is added and then matured. Pineau us also found as a home-made product in the neighbouring Deau-Sevres and Vendee departements. The Balvenie USA brand ambassador Lorne Cousin suggested Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE explore these casks after a trip to the region with his family where he fondly remembers sipping an aperitif. This is the first of The Balvenie finishes to explore French Oak. Pineau is akin to cognac in terms of production and flavour, allowing us to capitalise on the rise of this flavour profile and its premium credentials.

The Balvenie 18 YO The Stories French Pineau Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml

Released in September 2024, The Balvenie 18YO French Pineau Cask Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the latest limited-edition Stories release.  The original experiment by David Stewart to finish The Balvenie in French Pineau Casks were discovered by Kelsey after 8 years in Pineau, to find they had really developed into something incredible.

Shiraz Preferred Dozen

Australian wine drinkers and shiraz, a love affair of the ages! It’s the country’s most widely planted variety and probably the most renowned area of production are the wine regions of South Australia. Here you’ll find two bottles each of these shining examples of shiraz, including wine from McLaren Vale legends Wirra Wirra, a Halliday Wine Companion 5-star rated producer, plus another McLaren Vale wine from Ulithorne, the 95-point rated Immortelle Shiraz. There’s a brace of wines rated 97 points by the Halliday Wine Companion from Hunter Valley icons Mount Pleasant and Coonawarra favourites Stonehaven, and a 96-point rated pinot noir from Halliday Winery of the Year 2025, Giant Steps. Rounding off the mentions is the powerful Super Tuscan Mantello from Sensi, a sangiovese and syrah blend rated an incredible 98 points by Migliori Vino Rosso d'Italia.

Crafted with a commitment to traditional wine making values, fermentation takes place in original open vats over 155 years old, with maturation then in similarly aged large French oak prior to bottling. Smaller predominantly French oak barrels are also used, with the wine from these blended back during the final filtering and bottling.
Tahbilk Cabernet Sauvignon releases have shown consistently over time considerable richness and character and are considered by many experts to be the best Estate red for long-term cellarage.
